A Faux Furry Friend

“Things are not always what they appear to be.” An older woman in Cheshire, England proved this to be true when she rescued what she believed was an abandoned baby hedgehog on the side of the road. She took it home and put it in a box with a bowl of cat food, then left it alone, careful not to disturb it.
The next morning, she took the “hedgehog” to the Lower Moss Wood Nature Reserve & Wildlife Hospital, concerned that it hadn’t moved all night. The veterinarians then told the woman that she had actually rescued a pom-pom that had probably adorned the top of a hat.
Despite all the care and effort directed at handling the hedgehog that turned out to be, well, not a hedgehog, the veterinarians praised the woman for her good intentions. The animal hospital later stated in a Facebook post, “Remember, kindness knows no bounds, even when it’s to a faux furry friend.”
