I visited Lake Winnipesaukee this fall. My family and I went to a gift shop owned by a YouTuber we watch (Taylor the Nahamsha Hiker), and she recommended going there. When we arrived, we immediately went to the beach (Weirs Beach). It wasn’t busy, and the teal water with the colorful boardwalk was beautiful.
I had stood in the water for a short time, and some gulls and a duck came a little nearer, likely expecting food. I didn’t have any, but they didn’t bother me and were quite entertaining. If you don’t enjoy the company of animals, I’d recommend avoiding the beach, especially in the summer.
After staying at the beach for a while, we walked on the vibrant boardwalk. It wasn’t crowded at all, as it was fall and a bit cold. It was very clean, and there were plenty of places to sit. Many ships were docked at the pier, and there were many kinds of small stores but we didn’t have enough time to explore them all.
Ice cream is very popular in New England, so we went an ice cream shop on the boardwalk. We got two medium-sized cones, but the scoops were overflowing, about 5 or 6 inches above the cone. There were benches facing the shop, and we sat on one of them, bringing some amazed ice cream customers there. The line for ice cream quickly grew.
I loved the experience! I would definitely go back. Even to just get the delicious ice cream. I recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable time on the beach or having dessert.
